Arinite’s COVID-19 web page is brimming with helpful tips, official advice, and news stories updated every weekday and even at the weekends.  All this is aimed at helping businesses to keep their staff and customers safe, and to weather the enormous downturn in the economy. But what about YOU?  Who is caring for those who care? Amidst the strange new lexicon of lockdown, furlough and social-distancing, have you done enough to protect your own health, and that of your family? Here is a reminder of the most important steps you should still be taking:
  • Go out as little as possible, and continue to work from home if you can. The Coronavirus hasn’t gone away, it’s just being gradually brought under control – and it’s still killing people.
  • Keep your distance from others; the Government now recommends at least 1 metre if other safeguards are in place, however 2 metres reduces the risk of spreading germs to one tenth.
  • Plan your schedule to avoid crowds, such as in shops or on public transport.
  • Wear a face covering if it isn’t possible to maintain social-distancing.
  • Keep using that sanitiser on hands, faces and surfaces.
  • Consider travel options other than using public transport.
and some you may not have considered…
  • Wash your clothes regularly as there is some evidence that the virus can stay on fabrics for a few days.
  • Avoid shouting or singing close to people outside your household or support bubble, as this can increase the amount of respiratory droplets and aerosols released.
  • Keep indoor spaces well-ventilated.
  • Self-isolate and contact NHS 111 for a test if you have the main symptoms of Coronavirus (COVID-19) - high temperature, a new continuous cough and a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste.
  • Check your employer’s Coronavirus risk assessment before returning to work.
  • Use elbows, feet – anything but hands – on touch surfaces like doors, switches, etc.
  • If you are forced into close proximity to someone else, especially indoors, hold your breath briefly, as their exhaled particles can hang in the air.
We have to start planning for the new normal – and Arinite is here to serve you.
