HSE inspections up 47% - HSE carried out over 13,200 workplace inspections in 2024/25.
Training is available on-site at your premises, online via live video, or as a blended programme combining both. Every course is tailored to your workplace, your risks, and your sector.
Health and safety training is not optional. The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 requires every employer to provide information, instruction, training, and supervision to ensure the health and safety of employees. The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 reinforce this, requiring training to be provided on recruitment, when exposed to new or increased risks, and periodically as a refresher.
Beyond the legal obligation, training is the most effective way to reduce workplace incidents. HSE data consistently shows that organisations with structured training programmes have lower injury rates, fewer enforcement actions, and better employee engagement with health and safety.
For businesses that outsource health and safety to Arinite, training is included in the Done For You and Done With You engagement models. For businesses seeking standalone training, all courses are available individually.
Arinite delivers a comprehensive range of courses covering every core area of workplace health and safety. Each course is tailored to your sector and workplace, not delivered from a generic script.
Covers fire prevention, fire risk awareness, the use of fire extinguishers, evacuation procedures, and the role of the fire marshal. Compliant with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Typically a half-day course. Available on-site or online.
Also available as fire warden training (the terms are interchangeable; the content is the same).
Covers the full Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 syllabus: managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, bleeding, burns, choking, shock, and fractures. Available as a three-day First Aid at Work course or a one-day Emergency First Aid at Work course. Certification is valid for three years.
Covers the principles of safe manual handling under the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992. Includes risk assessment of manual handling tasks, safe lifting and carrying techniques, and practical exercises tailored to your workplace activities. Typically a half-day course.
Trains your employees to conduct display screen equipment (DSE) assessments under the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992. Covers workstation setup, posture, screen positioning, and the assessment process. Particularly relevant for businesses with remote or hybrid workers.
Covers the identification, assessment, and control of hazardous substances under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002. Includes reading safety data sheets, conducting COSHH assessments, and implementing appropriate controls.
Covers the Work at Height Regulations 2005: risk assessment for work at height, selection and inspection of access equipment, and the hierarchy of controls. Essential for any business where employees use ladders, platforms, or scaffolding.
A general awareness course covering employees' responsibilities under health and safety law, hazard identification, reporting procedures, and emergency arrangements. Suitable as induction training for new starters and as a refresher for existing staff.
Covers directors' legal duties under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, personal liability under Section 37, corporate governance requirements, and the role of the board in health and safety leadership. Aligned with the IOSH Leading Safely programme and the HSE/IoD guidance on 'Leading Health and Safety at Work.'
Covers the five-step risk assessment process under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999. Trains participants to identify hazards, assess risk, implement controls, record findings, and review assessments. Suitable for anyone responsible for conducting workplace risk assessments.
Covers the HSE Management Standards for work-related stress, the legal obligations on employers to assess and manage stress risks, and practical techniques for identifying and supporting employees experiencing work-related stress.
Covers the employer's duties when engaging contractors, including competence verification, risk assessment communication, permit-to-work systems, and monitoring contractor health and safety performance on site.
Covers risk assessment for lone workers, communication procedures, personal safety awareness, and the employer's duties under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and HSE guidance on lone working.
All Arinite courses are available in three delivery formats.
On-site training is delivered at your premises by a Chartered consultant. The course content is tailored to your specific workplace, using your equipment, your layout, and your documented risk assessments as practical examples. This is the most effective format for courses with a practical component (fire marshal, manual handling, working at height).
Online training is delivered live via video conferencing. It is not pre-recorded e-learning. A Chartered consultant delivers the course in real time, with interaction, questions, and discussion. Online delivery is suitable for all awareness and assessor courses and is the preferred format for multi-site businesses training employees across different locations simultaneously.
Blended training combines online theory with on-site practical sessions. The theory is delivered online before the practical day, maximising the time available for hands-on exercises during the on-site session.
All Arinite training is delivered by Chartered health and safety consultants, not by generic trainers reading from a slide deck. Our trainers hold IOSH Chartered membership and have practical experience conducting audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations in the sectors they train.
This matters because the most effective training uses real examples from the delegates' own industry. A fire marshal course delivered by someone who has conducted fire risk assessments in your type of premises is fundamentally different from a course delivered by someone who has only read the regulations.
Arinite does not outsource training delivery. Your Chartered consultant delivers the course, answers the questions, and is available afterwards for follow-up queries.
Training costs depend on the course, the number of delegates, the delivery format, and whether training is standalone or part of an outsourced health and safety package.
Every training engagement is scoped and priced individually. Common course shapes include:
fire marshal, DSE assessor, COSHH assessor, stress awareness
Tailored quote — on-site or online delivery, priced per session for up to 12 delegates.
manual handling, working at height, risk assessment, control of contractors
Tailored quote — on-site delivery, priced per session for up to 12 delegates.
First Aid at Work, three days
Bespoke quote — priced per session for up to 12 delegates.
Bespoke quote — priced per session.
For businesses on Arinite's Done For You or Done With You outsourced packages, training is included in the monthly fee or available at preferential rates.
Per-delegate pricing is also available for individuals joining scheduled open courses.
All delegates receive a certificate of completion for every course. Certificates are issued digitally and uploaded to Arinite's health and safety software platform, giving you a searchable, auditable training record for every employee.
For first aid qualifications, certification is valid for three years (First Aid at Work) or three years (Emergency First Aid at Work) as per HSE guidance. Annual refresher training is recommended and can be scheduled through the compliance platform.
For fire marshal training, there is no statutory expiry period, but Arinite recommends annual refresher training and retraining whenever the premises, layout, or fire safety arrangements change.
For all other courses, Arinite recommends refresher training annually or when circumstances change (new equipment, new processes, new legislation).
Arinite delivers training across the UK and in 50+ countries. On-site training is available at any UK location. Online training is available to any location globally.

From Reactive Firefighting to Proactive Health & Safety Compliance
No formal HSE systems in place. Everything is reactive, waiting for something to go wrong. Documentation is missing or outdated.
This isn't just "non-compliant." It's criminally negligent. Directors face personal prosecution.
Basic HSE documentation is in place. Minimum legal requirements met. You can pass a basic audit.
Compliance is where most consultants get you, then leave. You're legal, but you're not optimised.
Systems run proactively, preventing problems before they occur. Compliance is distributed, not dependent on one person.
That's why 95%+ of clients renew year after year.

Operations Director, Arinite
I have been in the health and safety business for 35+ years. In that time, I have had one consistent experience across every sector and every country I have worked in.
Every business we speak to already knows, somewhere, that their workplace health and safety compliance has not kept pace with their growth. It is not ignorance. It is business. It is the assumption that because nothing has gone wrong yet, the gaps are probably manageable.
What stops most businesses from doing something about it is not the cost of outsourcing health and safety support. It is the fear of finding out how significant the gaps are.
The Free Gap Analysis Call exists for exactly that moment.
You get the full picture of your workplace health and safety position in 30 minutes.
